Solar Panel Cleaning.

Central Otago is one of the dustiest, driest parts of the country, and it shows on solar panels faster than almost anywhere else. Panels are installed at an angle precisely so rain rinses them — but our rain is infrequent, and when it does come it often just leaves a fine silt film behind.

That film is doing exactly what a dirty window does: blocking light. Except here it's blocking the light you're paying to convert into power.

I'm based on Wilkin Road in Wanaka, not driving over from another city. That means I can get to you quickly, and I'm around for the next clean when it's due rather than passing through once.

Pure water is also the right tool for panels specifically. Detergents can leave a residue that attracts more dust and, over time, can affect the seals around the panel edge. Filtered water rinses clean and dries without marking.
